Nica HOPE opened its doors to the community of the Managua City trash dump in February of 2008,

receiving a flood of students seeking to expand their minds, skills, and opportunities for the future. With children working in the trash to make little more than $2 a day, Nica HOPE programs aim to provide education and job opportunities apart from the trash for these youth.

    New Holiday Ornaments

    Nov 9 2009 :: Katherine Fallon

    Nica HOPE jewelry students have created 3 new ornament styles just in time to celebrate the holidays! Each piece is made out of finely crafted Alpaca wire and glass beads. The tree is about 8cm tall with red and green beads, the snowflake is 9cm wide with white beads, and the candy cane is about 10cm tall with red and green beads. They each have a loop of metallic wire for hanging purposes.
