receiving a flood of students seeking to expand their minds, skills, and opportunities for the future. With children working in the trash to make little more than $2 a day, Nica HOPE programs aim to provide education and job opportunities apart from the trash for these youth.

Lunch hall
As a part of Fabretto Children's Foundation, Nica HOPE runs a lunch program at the public elementary school located next to the entrance of the trash dump. A daily lunch is offered to over 500 students that attend the school, in effort to improve child nutrition and school attendance. This program is made possible by support from Austin Samaritans, Cross International, and the Tin Roof Foundation.
